Whilst out walking over the weekend from
the Wrekin to Wellington I followed the Public Foothpath which runs from
the Wrekin to Cluddley past Wrekin Farm. Just before the farm you cross a style,
you then cross the road and, according to the Ordnance Survey Map, the
footpath is supposed to continue down the drive and past a cottage by
Wrekin Farm. The path should go right past the cottage, then through
their garden and exit into the field behind the cottage. Unfortunately, all the signs which should tell you that the path follows the drive and lead through the garden are missing at this point which makes it rather confusing for a rambler as he would not really know if he is trespassing or not. Only the very experienced map reader would attempt to continue into a private garden past a house without any signs. |

I
have reported this matter to the Principal Footpath Officer at
Shropshire County Council and I have asked him to look at the location
and to ensure that the signs are replaced or re-erected.
