AFTER FILLING IN A CUSTOMER REPORT FORM NO.(019549) AND TWO LETTERS TO THOMSON HOLIDAYS WE FEEL THAT WE ARE NOT BEING TAKEN SERIOUSLY ABOUT OUR COMPLAINTS.

WE WERE ON HOLIDAY TO THE PALMANOVA PALACE HOTEL IN MAJORCA 10th TO THE 24th JULY THIS YEAR.

AFTER THE FIRST FEW DAYS PASSED WE HAD TO COMPLAIN ABOUT SEVERAL DISORDERLY GUESTS WHO SEEMED TO GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO ANNOY AND INTIMIDATE OTHER GUESTS BY SPLASHING AROUND THE POOL AREA, THROWING UNSUSPECTING PEOPLE IN AND GENERALLY BEING OFFENSIVE AND ABUSIVE TOWARDS OTHERS.

WE FEEL THAT THE THOMSON REPS HAD NEITHER THE NECESSARY TRAINING, SKILLS NOR AUTHORITY TO DEAL WITH THESE BULLIES, WHO AFTER BEING TOLD OFF COMPLETELY IGNORED THE REPS WARNINGS. THEY SEEMED TO TAKE GREAT ENJOYMENT FROM THEIR BAD BEHAVIOUR AND RUINING OTHERS HOLIDAYS.

AS WE POINTED OUT TO THOMSON IN ONE OF OUR LETTERS REGARDING DISORDERLY CUSTOMERS - IN THE TRAVEL DOCUMENT BOOKLET THEY SUPPLY, "THEY WILL REFUSE TO ACCEPT YOU AS A CUSTOMER AND DISCONTINUE DEALING WITH YOU IF YOUR BEHAVIOUR IS DISRUPTIVE AND AFFECTS OTHER HOLIDAYMAKERS AND WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OF THE COSTS WHICH YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY". THEY DID NOT DEAL WITH THE DISORDERLY GUESTS THIS WAY, RATHER THAN CONFRONT THEM WITH THEIR DISGRACEFUL CONDUCT THEY LEFT OTHER GUESTS TO LEAVE THE HOTEL TO FIND SOME PEACE AND RELAXATION ELSEWHERE AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE. MY HUSBAND AND I DID NOT BENEFIT FROM THE ALL INCLUSIVE PACKAGE WE HAD PAID FOR BECAUSE OF THIS AND FEEL THAT THOMSON SHOULD RECOMPENSE US FOR OUR LOSSES AS WE HAD TO SPEND MORE THAN WE HAD PLANNED FOR.

NOT ONLY WERE THERE DISRUPTIVE GUESTS AROUND THE SWIMMING POOL AREA THERE WERE OTHERS WHO WERE THROWING THINGS FROM THE BALCONIES ONTO THE SOCIAL AREA INCLUDING LIT CIGARETTES WHICH WERE LANDING ON PEOPLE, NOTHING SEEMED TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS, AGAIN IT WAS NOT SAFE TO SIT THERE IN THE EVENING DURING THE ENTERTAINMENT.

THERE WERE RATS RUNNING UP AND DOWN THE RETAINING WALL BY THE OUTDOOR SOCIAL AREA.

AND FINALLY ON THE DAY WE WERE LEAVING THE COACH NEVER PICKED US UP, EIGHT PEOPLE WERE WAITING FOR THE SAME COACH TO THE AIRPORT WHICH SHOULD HAVE COLLECTED US BY O9.05 BY 09.50 WE HAD TO PHONE THE THOMSON LINE ONLY TO BE TOLD THE COACH WAS FULL BEFORE GETTING TO THE PALMANOVA PALACE AND TO GET SOME TAXIS TO THE AIRPORT. THOMSON'S SHOULD HAVE KNOWN HOW MANY PEOPLE THEY WERE DUE TO PICK UP AND ARRANGED ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORT FOR US BUT THEY DID NOT SEEM BOTHERED THAT EIGHT PEOPLE WERE LEFT STRANDED AND PANICKED AT NOT BEING ABLE TO GET TO THE AIRPORT TO CHECK IN ON TIME. THE REPS AT THOMSON DESK AT THE AIRPORT  DID GIVE US OUR TAXI FARE BACK BUT WE HAD PAID FOR TRANSFERS AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN PICKED UP BY COACH ON TIME.

OUR HOLIDAY COST US £1671.38 AND WE SPENT AT LEAST £250 MORE THAT WE BUDGETED FOR ONCE WE GOT THERE DUE TO THE FACT THAT WE HAD TO LEAVE THE HOTEL EACH DAY TO FIND SOME PEACE AND RELAXATION.

THOMSON DO NOT CARE ABOUT DECENT GUESTS AND THE REPS AT THAT PARTICULAR HOTEL SEEM TO WORRY MORE ABOUT WHAT THE YOBS WILL DO TO THEM RATHER THAN DO THEIR JOBS PROPERLY. ALL THE TALK AT THE WELCOME MEETING MEANS NOTHING AND THE ONLY TIME THAT THE REPS ARE INTERESTED IN YOU IS WHEN YOU SPEND MONEY ON EXCURSIONS.

As we have not heard from the complainant since September 2003 we must assume that the matter has now been settled by Thomson to their full satisfaction.
