Yesterday, the 6th October 03 I purchased various items at Lidl, Bishops Cleeve, Nr Cheltenham. Two of the items were garden lights. It was not until I arrived home that I noticed that they were for indoor use only. Being so they were of no use to me whatsoever Today the 7th I returned the said items and was informed by the manager that they do not refund for goods sold by them. I told the manager that they are of no use to me and left the lights on the counter and walked out. I used to use that store about twice a week; no more. Also I cannot find a email address or a customer complaints department to complain to. Can you help with that We have written to Lidl expressing our disbelieve that Lidl needs to take this attitude over items which are clearly bought on impulse by their food shoppers and we have asked them to confirm to us that this is in line with their Company Policy on consumer returns and not just the action of a misguided manager. We have told them that we would like to solve this matter on an amicable basis helping Mr. Ganderton to obtain his refund and Lidl to retain a satisfied customer and we have asked them to reconsider their manager's decision. Update 31/10/2003 We have just received the following e-mail from Mr. Ganderton: Thank you for your help. I am now in contact with Lidl and hope for at least an apology, a refund would be nice as well. Update 17/11/2003 Mr. Ganderton has now sent us the following e-mail which finalises his complaint:
Just to let you know the Lidl has sent
me a twelve pound voucher,
