I just read the story about Mr and Mrs Hotchkiss' experience with Courts and Interline Italia. We have been waiting since March this year for a leather suite from Courts, and have been given a variety of dates of arrival into the country of this furniture, and a huge number of reasons why the order hasn't been fulfilled yet. It appears that Interline Italia are refusing to take direct phone calls, and don't answer any form of communication readily.

We are very torn about what to do. We chose this furniture because after searching far and near, it was the only suite that we both found comfortable and fitting all our criteria. We have been offered money off the price, which we've accepted, but meanwhile, it's galling to see the same furniture still for sale in the shop and also to receive flyers through the door from Courts, advertising furniture in time for Christmas if ordered now!

Veronica Godfrey, Fareham, Hants

This is once again furniture made by the Interline Italia Group in Italy and we can only repeat what we said previously not to buy these goods unless Courts are prepared to guarantee firm delivery dates. Lead times, as quoted at present on their contracts,  are not legally binding.

Mrs. Godfrey has now been waiting since March 2003 for the furniture she ordered from Courts who have taken her deposit but not delivered any goods but still keep advertising this furniture in the full knowledge that they are unable to supply. Despite the fact that the contracts state that these are firm orders do not be put off if you want to cancel your order. Courts are in breach of contract - not you

Update: 15/09/03
Thanks for your reply. I took the matter into my own hands and contacted Interline Italia myself, in fact I contacted 5 different people who were unwise enough to have email addresses! This was last Thursday. I had 2 replies on Friday and one yesterday, all assuring me that my furniture would definitely be delivered to the UK in the middle of this month. Courts have been told the same thing. I have everything crossed! However, Courts have told me that I might not receive it by Christmas, when I really do need it...

Mrs. Goodfrey kindly supplied us with the e-mail addresses of Interline Italia who did response to her plea and we are listing herewith these addresses for anyone else who has been let down by this company:
 Max Dipalma:    mdipalma@interlineitalia.com
 Elisa Cappiello: ecappiello@interlineitalia.com
 Update 04/01/2004
As Mrs. Godfrey has not come back to us we assume that Courts have actually delivered her suite before Christmas and that the matter is now settled.
