NO COLLECTION
NO DELIVERY
NO REFUND
From collectables to cars, buy and sell all kinds of items on eBay UK
The above Logo column initially showed the logo they use on ebay to advertise their business. Since they have seen this page they have objected to us showing their logo and have threatened us with court action. Whilst we are most certainly not afraid to go to court we feel that it is more effective to remove the images and publish the background and the reasons as to why they have been removed as this clearly shows how they treat their potential customers and what you can expect when they do not deliver the service they charge you for
I sell on ebay and I paid for the services of the above Company which also sells their 24hour delivery service on ebay.

The auction finished on Monday, the buyer paid me promptly with Paypal and I consequently selected 'COURIER STOP' to collect the parcel and deliver it to the buyer. I paid them on Monday evening and they confirmed the booking first thing Tuesday morning by e-mail as follows

Your Collection request has been submitted to our Customer Service Center
Our reference for your request id 1171376.
Use www.courier-stop.co.uk as its quicker and cheaper!

It does say on their auction site

PARCELS ARE PICKED UP/DROPPED OFF MONDAY – FRIDAY BETWEEN 9AM AND 5PM.

WE CAN’T GIVE A SPECIFIC TIME

This was fine with me, I was not going anywhere on that day so I just sat back and waited. I waited all day, 5 pm came and nobody had been but, so I thought, I was a bit late booking it on Monday evening, they are bound to come on Wednesday to collect. Wednesday came and by 5pm, you guessed it, nobody had been and nobody had contacted me. I sent them a short e-mail

It's now 17.00 hours and having spent 2 full days waiting for the collection of my parcel  I would appreciate your urgent response
as to what you propose. I cannot possible spend another full day at home tomorrow and unless I hear from you by return I will
have no other alternative but to use another service to despatch my parcel.
Please get back to me a s a p

I waited until lunchtime on Thursday without getting a response and I sent them yet another e-mail

In the absence of a response to my e-mail below I will now have to assume that you have no intention to contact me or collect the parcel. As I have already paid you by Paypal for this service

I trust that you will reimburse me now with this charge, failing this, I will have to lodge a claim with Paypal for non-delivery of the parcel.

Needless to say that I will also have to leave a negative feedback with ebay.

This time they did respond and I received a reply from Kyle which simply said

'I would gladly like to help you. what was your pick up postcode so I can assist you with this?

I was still at home sitting by my computer and I responded immediately and gave her my postal code
and she came back 2 hours later at 2.30pm telling me that she would get on to the depot to sort it out
That was the last time I heard of Kyle, the depot or indeed Courier Stop. 5pm came again on Thursday, nobody had been, nobody had phoned me and nobody had collected my parcel. I had not told a lie when I said that I would not be at home for the rest of the week, I was going away on Friday morning for a long weekend and, consequently, before I left on Friday morning,  I took my parcel o to the Post Office and sent it to the buyer by parcel post. It cost me a bit more but at least they did not mess me about.
The moral of the story is
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY TO USE COURIER STOP TO SEND OUT YOUR PARCELS
THEY MAY BE OFFERING YOU A 24 HOUR DELIVERY SERVICE
BUT WHAT GOOD IS THAT IF THEY DON'T COLLECT THE PARCELS

COURIER STOP IS A
WHOLLY OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF BRAITHERS LTD WHICH WAS INCORPORATED IN JANUARY 2006 AND HAS NOT YET FILED ANY ACCOUNTS WITH COMPANIES HOUSE
(see below)

 ON THEIR WEBSITE THEY CLAIM
COURIER STOPARE YOUR FRIENDLY COLLECTIONS AND DELIVERY COMPANY WHO JUST LOVE TO MAKE OUR CUSTOMERS SMILE
They certainly did not  make me smile, they made me very angry and very frustrated and I have now
asked Paypal to refund me with the money I had paid them in good faith for a service I did not receive.

This part did originally show their logo from their website which said
Courier Stop
FOR ALL YOUR DELIVERY NEEDS - TOTAL SATISFACTION GUARANTEED
As I said above they clearly do not want to be identified which is why they have demanded that we remove their logos
(see their e-mail)
"Please remove all our images from the above link with immidate
effect as you're in breach of copyright")
When I asked them to repay first the amount I had paid them for a service they did not supply they were very quick to
send me yet another e-mail which said
'Am sorry thats no going to happen and if its not removed by Thursday 5pm, am going to refer this to the courts'
followed by another one which said
'The situation still remains the same, if its not removed by the deadline given, steps will be taken for it to be removed.
I advise you to check our terms and conditions [see below] which you were in agreement with.'
[shame about the spelling mistakes - theirs, not ours]

This clearly shows that they can actually answer e-mails when it is in their own interest but they clearly will not or cannot supply
the service they advertise and take the money for and, as their e-mail shows,
they have now confirmed it in writing that
 they will
NOT
 REFUND THE MONEY

JUST REMEMBER THE WORD   STOP IF YOU WANT TOTAL SATISFACTION
THERE IS NO POINT IN USING THEM IF THEY DON'T COLLECT THE GOODS, IF THEY DON'T COMMUNICATE
AND CLEARLY DON'T WISH TO BE IDENTIFIED.

THEY DID NOT EVEN HAVE THE COMMON COURTESY TO APOLOGISE

But just in case you want to have a look at their website and see what they advertise
then you can always have a look at it at
www.courier-stop.co.uk
[Our apologies for removing the link to the site but we have no intention to advertise their service]

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

I am not the only one who experienced their non existing service, someone else recently left this comment on eBay:

Update 13/11/2007

Courier-Stop and Parcels2ship
currently have no service for sale on ebay
On their Courier-Stop Website they have now increased their parcel charge to
£ 7.99
which means they are now no longer competitive anyway

They have now also made their feedbacks 'private' which means that they are now hiding the comments of their customers having accumulated 13 negative feedbacks in one month

This Company clearly has the cheek of the Devil.

They have now notified ebay and are claiming that I have not paid them despite the fact that Paypal have found in my  favour and have actually repaid me now  the amount I  had paid Courier-Stop for the collection and delivery of the parcel.

In addition to this blatant and deliberate lie they have also left a negative feedback claiming

Negative feedback rating totally unhappy with customer - not understanding at all and won't have back

I  don't understand what they mean when they claim I  won't have back!! .... .. but whatever it is, it's again a repetition as to what happened to the customer above who called them   pathetic jokers.

 I  can't really add to this, can I ??

All they had to do was apologise for the service they did not deliver and refund me with the money I  paid them in good faith. So yes, they are pathetic and I will now ask ebay to investigate their trading activities.

Please note that Courier-Stop are also trading as
Parcels2ship and parcel_ship
on Ebay

  Parcels2ship   Courier-Stop   parcel_ship
are the same company

It is well possible that there are some more trading names
for Courier-Stop or Braithers Ltd.
Please contact us and let us know if you come across any further links or connections to Braithers

We all are humans and we all make mistakes. Genuine Companies will always admit to having made that mistake  and they will apologise to their customers and refund the money paid to them without any argumentation

Unscrupulous companies will not

We have received an e-mail from kyle@courier-stop.co.uk in which they claim that the above claim is unjust and should not have been posted without contacting them for their views -  see email as received:

Recently you published an article on Courier Stop which we believe is unfair and don’t believe such an article should have been posted without contacting us for our views on the matter.
The buyer who wanted the parcel collecting was not present at the time of the arranged pick up and therefore it was not possible for the collection of the parcel and under our terms & conditions, we didn’t have to rebook the parcel in for collection, but being the company we are, we felt that we would arrange another collection. Again the customer was not in.
He states we don’t reply to emails, we are just delayed from time to time during busy periods but all emails receive a reply.
Upon an email sent by Kyle, the buyer did not respond with the information requested and at which point became very unhelpful.
We believe The Complaint Shop have taken a one sided view on this and unless you can provide proof of all claims within the article, we will be left with no option but to seek legal advice
.

As they made various accusations we took up their advice and asked the buyer to varify the claim they made that he was not at home on two occasions and that he did not respond to the emails sent to him by Kyle and after we had received the buyers response we sent Courier-Stop the following email:

We are in receipt of your e-mail regarding the complaint we have published on our website and we have noted that you believe that it is unfair and that it should not have been posted without contacting you for your views on the matter.

If we read your e-mail correctly, we presume you now wish this  e-mail to be added to  the website.  You are claiming that the buyer was not at home at the time of the arranged pick-up on at least two occasions. You are also claiming that the buyer did not respond with the information you had requested and that he became very unhelpful.

As you have accused us of taking a one side view and as you have threatened us with legal action we have re-checked this matter with the buyer who has informed us as follows:

‘Courier-Stop are telling a blatant, barefaced and deliberate lie as I was at home in my office continuously from Monday until Thursday evening. I never left the house on any of these days as I had workmen carrying out repair work on my drive and I can prove this with several witnesses.

You are also claiming that the buyer did not respond to your e-mails but, so we are told by the buyer,  the only two e-mails received from you were the ones already published on our website. What other e-mails did you send and what other information apart from the post code did your request.

Unless we hear from you to the contrary we will add your e-mail as requested to our website together with the response from the buyer. If you have any further comments you wish to add then please let us know.

We had no response from Kyle or Courier-Stop and we have to assume that there is nothing more they wish to add to this website and, consequently we have now added their e-mail and our response to this website but if they do come back with any further information we will gladly add this to this site if we believe it is factual and relevant to this complaint.

The Complaint Shop will always allow both sides to state their case and it will be left to the visitors of this website to make up their own opinion

UPDATE

We have just received an  e-mail from yet another frustrated customer of Courier-Stop which is as follows:

I too have had a lot of problems with this company. They act as agents for DHL and their Customer Service is terrible. I have had some of the same problems that your complainant has had. I have also been given the run around by them regarding a claim for part of a delivery that I paid for which was collected and didn't arrive.

They sent me a claim form with DHL's address on it. I filled it in and sent it off to the DHL address on the form. The address given on the form that they sent me was not correct. The claim form was returned to me by DHL three weeks later with a letter stating that Braithers Ltd. had requested that all claims came in via Braithers so they were unable to process it.

When I contacted Braithers they said that I could not now claim as their 14 day deadline had expired ! I asked Braithers why they had instructed DHL not to deal with claims unless they came in via Braithers. Braithers replied that it was DHL that had required this. I pointed out that DHL had told me that it was Braithers who had requested this. Braithers then failed to answer any of my emails.

I also asked Braithers why they had sent me a DHL claim form with DHL's address on it and expected me to return it to Braithers. They said it was in their terms and conditions!

I believe that Braithers are a thoroughly disreputable company and they should be reported to trading standards. Why a reputable company like DHL deal with them I do not know.
