Your delivery date

Check that the delivery date, order details and delivery address on your invoice are correct. Clear as much space at home to store the boxed items when they're delivered. The more room you can spare, the easier it will be to check the items. 2 Weeks prior to your delivery date you will be contacted by a Customer Service representative to arrange a delivery convenient to you

I have had a horrible experience with MFI.
I ordered a kitchen from MFI which we are to install ourselves. We had to pay IN FULL 21 days before delivery so the kitchen was paid for by 5th March 04.

Week prior - Took the old kitchen out.
26th March - Kitchen due to be delivered 25th March - Received a call saying that some parts were missing and would be delivered on the Thursday. This included the legs so we couldn't raise the cabinets.
Thurs 1st April: Nothing; told the 8th April.

Complained and managed to get some of the items sent to us. Had to go to the store to pick up legs.
8th April: Nothing.

MFI hadn't bothered to call us to say that the delivery had been delayed to the 17th April!

When I phoned and complained and threatened Equalitas they said that they would call me on Weds 14th to confirm delivery. We were also told  " you can try B&Q for some of your stuff and we will refund the difference"!!
Weds 14th April: No one called.
Thurs 15th April: Automated response to say my delivery was due on Saturday 17th April but I wanted to talk to someone to ensure it was the final pieces and to also get 2 more legs as 2 have already snapped.
All morning I have tried to call customer service but it is always busy. It tells me to try the website. File an email and get an automated response to say that I will get a response in 10 days!
However, sales answer the phone to take orders but refuse to assist with current orders.
To me MFI has ripped me off by taking my money and not delivering in terms of service or items!

Yet another horror story involving the delivery times and the availability of MFI products.

This just isn't good enough -

If you take the money from the unsuspecting consumer you should make sure first that you can supply the goods.

Once again we have written  to MFI Head Office in London urging them to look into this matter and to ensure that this situation is now resolved without any further complications or delays.

Update 21st April 2004
Fortunately I have now received the kitchen.
The staff at the shop I purchased from were as helpful as they could be but the general customer service tel line and delivery were just the worse and must let the stores down. They must get swamped with complaints that should be dealt with by the customer service tel line. No wonder the turn over is so high.
I suppose pay peanuts and expect.....
       Thanks again!
