MFI gave us a delivery date of 31/03/04 for our kitchen units. And I booked
leave from 2/4/04 for a week to start taking out the old and fitting the
new. On the 31st Kitchen units arrived with 2 Worktops/Fittings for a Carousel unit and a can of oil missing and the Bosch oven damaged. Contacted MFI and was assured that the missing items would be delivered on the 14th April. So on that basis I removed the old kitchen totally and fitted as many units as possible. The 14th came No Delivery. Contacted the Customer Service number to be met with total disinterest and they may come on April 28th. After constant nagging (remember no water/oven or work surfaces) the worktops arrive and then the Oven followed by the work surfaces. But no fittings. By chance the local MFI (Gillingham) obtained the box of fittings from a firm called Howdens ?? and we collected these. But no oil. Today is the 30th April I have spoken (as has my wife) with people at head office and at the local MFI. Despite promises of the oil (Due Weds 28th) it has not arrived. And we still have the damaged £400 oven cluttering the garage up (they did offer to collect it in May but I would have to take the time off so I asked if that was thought reasonable. No was the answer. OK I still have the oven its obviously not wanted. I have emailed The customer services manager and the company secretary (available on there web site) but no reply. Our advisor was interested in a paragraph in the brochure "Your new Kitchen" (XBR2029) which states (Page 6) 'MFI offer a free and easy home delivery service. Our automated delivery system ensures that your new kitchen arrives at your home on schedule and without any fuss". So that is my current dealings with MFI. We are now entering the 5th week with no kitchen and costs of fitters etc mounting. Never again and I would advise others to think twice. Their customer relations is way below zero. |
