I bought a portable radio/cassette/CD player earlier this year from
Lidl; make Bench, price £23.99. The CD part has stopped working, so
I took it back to Lidl to ask for a refund. I couldn't find the
receipt, but as Lidl would have a record of when they were on sale,
and in view of the fact that they were only (as far as I am aware)
sold in Lidl, I did not expect anything other than an immediate
refund. I was told no receipt, no refund. I asked to speak to the
manager who was rather rude and refused a refund. When I asked for
an address I could write to in order to express my dissatisfaction,
his response was "no, it is on your receipt".
I did get an address before I left, and intend to complain, both
about the refunds policy and the manager’s attitude. He was totally
lacking in interpersonal skills and was very unprofessional.

Once again we contacted Lidl at their Head
Office in London and asked them to look into this matter and to
re-consider the decision of their branch manager which they confirmed to
us promptly. |

Mrs. McDougall has e-mailed us on the 5th December confirming that
Lidl did contact her and that her complaint is now settled. |

Just to let you know I
received a cheque today from LIDL for the faulty CD player I
returned.
It was a bit of a hassle, I had to
find old bank statements, then fax it to Lidl, wait for a
letter, take the letter and the CD player to the store, wait
20 minutes while the manager looked for the code, then wait
5 days for the cheque to arrive.
Many thanks and I like your web
site.
