Laminator £14.99

We have just received 2 complaints, both referring to the above item:

Yvonne sent us the following e-mail:
Hi Lidl have advertised a Laminator on sale from the 28th of June. I have travelled a round trip of 48 miles to be told they are having trouble with the manufacturer. In my opinion they should not advertise what they do not have . The manager was helpful and rang other shops in the area to see if any had them and they all said no.  They have also advertised laminating pouches which they also do not have . Hoping for a reply from you Mrs. Y. Tester

We also received the following e-mail from Yuuga:
Monday 28th June 2004 0845,15 people were waiting outside the Plymouth Honicknowle store to open to purchase on the first day of sale the Lervia Laminators and pouches that were advertised on the large board outside the store and on the window advert.
When the store opened, no Laminators and no pouches. Just one rather small and unobtrusive notice stating that the Laminators and pouches were not available in that store. Complaints to the manager and staff re falsely advertising items merely brought a response that it was not their fault but still the items remained advertised both outside the store and on the window display.
This was not an isolated incident of its type as the Plymouth Plymstock store also had plenty of advertisements, Plenty of expectant customers but no products. Not even a notice in that store.

This is another example of the appalling Customer Service level of Lidl UK.
It may be true that there was a problem with this product and that they are unable to supply it but it is still advertised on their website as a current special, yet as it can be seen from the above complaints that they did not supply their stores. It is illegal to advertise an item for sale if the supplier has no intention to supply the goods but if they can claim that the item has been withdrawn due to a problem with the manufacture then they get away with it. Responsible suppliers would in such cases remove their advertising and inform their customers accordingly.
Always bear in mind that all these so-called 'Special Offers' are designed to bring you into their stores to buy their Food items - They are advertising gimmicks to make you go there on a regular basis to buy their basic lines they always sell
We did suggest to phone their stores the day before but we now realise that all their stores are ex-directory - We wonder why?
