Homeserve provides home assistance, household insurance and membership services, and claims to be  the UK's leading provider of home assistance offered on an affinity branded basis. Core products include plumbing and drains cover, electrical wiring cover and gas central heating cover to domestic customers.
 


 

I'm complaining about Homeserve. I'm writing this in a freezing cold house only two weeks away from Christmas. Homeserve have been supposedly sorting out my broken boiler for the last fortnight, with the 'help' of Payne's Heating of Caterham, Surrey, since 23rd November. To quote Homeserve' Hopefully you won't have to make a claim but if you do, you'll be free of all the waiting, wondering and expense that normally go with gas central heating breakdowns'.I'm not going to go into the detail of all our telephone calls and 'non-replies' from Home Serve but even a call to their customer services doesn't get a response. I'm following this up with letters to Consumer Complaints, my MP and Watchdog. Tomorrow I'm going to contact a local firm and get my boiler repaired in time for Christmas. I'm NOT going to continue to use Home Care Central Heating Insurance and would advise anyone thinking about using them to consider if it's going to be worth all the hassle!!!!


 
We provided Mrs.Watts with the telephone number of two Customer Relations Executives and we gave her the name and address of the Chief Executive Director of Homeserve.
In addition to that we also sent her the telephone number of the Head Office of Payne's Heating and we told her we would, if so requested take up this matter with Homeserve on her behalf.
Mrs. Watts has now sent us the following e-mail:
Many thanks for your e-mail. It was an unexpected pleasant surprise and had some very helpful information. Indeed the sort of service you might desire from others!!I have attached a letter to this e-mail, a copy or something similar of which, I shall be sending in with my bill to Homeserve. I shall also send a copy to their chief executive. Carry on the good work, I have informed all my friends and family about this service which I see as being good and impartial. Many thanks.
