On the 7th November 2007 I sold the Bossons Desert Hawk Wall Plaque to Tony Hawker in Ramsey, Cambridgeshire.  I sent him an invoice and sat back and waited for his payment.
It did not arrive and after about 12 days, just before I went on a weeks holiday,  I sent him yet another ebay reminder asking him to pay.
When I return I had a message which said:
tonyjuli1511 15-Nov-07 at 20:52:08 GMT

sorry we haven't paid you been having trouble with Paypal so
didn't realise payment hadn't been made to you. If you send me
address will pay you by postal order tomorrow

I responded and send my full postal address on the
23rd November but, needless to say had no response and
no payment. I waited patiently until the 1st December when
I sent yet another reminder:

Dear tonyjulie1511,

Following your message I have now sent you my postal address but I still have not received your payment. Please let me know within the next two days if you are going to pay for this item or if I have to ask ebay to refund me with the final value fee and issue an unpaid strike against you. I don’t like leaving negative feedbacks but if you don’t respond I will have no other option which may seriously affect your credibility on ebay in the future.

On the 2nd December I received an answer which said
Dear redpumpernickel,

I definately do want the scooby's, got to withdraw the money from one
account to my partners and as its sunday i can't sort it out til tomorrow
but promise it will be sorted

So here we are:
One blatant lie after the other and clearly no intention to pay.

I don't like to leave negative feedbacks on ebay and I do prefer to deal with people I can trust as this is the basis of selling on ebay.
The buyer has to trust the seller that the item sold matches the description and the seller has to trust the buyer that he pays for the item he/she bid for. This is auction law.

I can't stand people who aren't truthful, if they don't want the item then they should not bid for it and even you change your mind then tell the truth and don't mess the sellers about.

As I had no response I have no other option but to claim back my Final Value Fee from ebay, who in return will issue yet another unpaid strike for tonyjulie1511 and I will also have to leave now a negative feedback as a warning to other sellers.

So if you are selling on ebay and if you should come across tonyjulie1511 or Tony or Julie Hawker from Ramsay then remember what you have seen on this webpage and don't waste your time with them.
You have been warned

A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR:
This is just one  example of the many buyers out there on ebay who clearly don't abide by auction rules.
This is one of the most common complaints on ebay and whilst the media highlights the cases of fraudulent sellers nobody mentions the nuisance of the buyers who simply mess the sellers about and have no intention to pay them. It is high time that these people get the publicity they deserve as they are clearly not fit to be part of the ebay community and perhaps ebay will look into this matter and introduce more stringent penalties in cases like this.
The buyers need protection from fraudulent sellers and the sellers need protection from the buyers who have no intention to pay and simply mess the sellers about and waste their time.

The complainant was not the only one who was messed about by the Hawkers from Ramsay but thankfully ebay have now pulled the plug on them, but having said that we suppose that they will just start again using a different name.
Just keep an eye on their name & address and should they appear again we would be grateful if you could let us know.
