Europcar
This Header used to show the Europcar Logo but Europcar have objected to us showing their Logo without their permission and have written to us on the 13th April 2004 and have requested that we remove the Logo from our site with immediate effect. We have done as requested and we leave it to the visitors of this site to make up their own mind as to the reason of their request.

Another EuropCar rip-off!
I booked a hire car to be picked up at Carcassonne Airport, and received email confirmation about the booking. The price, £333.46. This was cheaper than all main rivals hence why I chose EuropCar.
But when I got to Carcassonne Airport, the EuropCar employee said he couldn't find my booking (despite me showing him my printed email confirmation) so he made me a new booking.
There were lots of facts and figures all over the form, and he spoke very little English, so, foolishly I guess, I just signed the form and assumed it would be the same price as I was quoted. It was only when I returned my car later and had to sign for the exact amount that I discovered the final bill was £450. I complained, obviously, and he scribbled "£350" on the form, and assured me that is what I would be charged. That was obviously a lie just to save me causing a scene in the office.
I've spoke to their "customer services" department, and sent various emails, but heard nothing back. This happened in August and it's now February!
Avoid EuropCar at all costs.

We sent a letter to Europcar Head Office in France asking them to look into this matter and to reimburse Mr. Nicklin with the amount they had overcharged but initially could get no reply.
 It was not until we sent yet another stronger letter to their Managing Director that they finally came back to us advising us that they had now made arrangements to refund the overcharge back to Mr. Nicklin's Credit Card and that, in addition, they had also asked Europcar Uk to refund the initial amount which, to our surprise, meant that they have now refunded the entire cost of  the car hire.
 In addition to that,   they also sent Mr. Nicklin an upgrade voucher, should he decide to use EuropCar again in the future 
It came as a pleasant surprise to us and to Mr. Nicklin who summed it up as follows:

Well, amazingly, I have now had a full refund for my original booking :-)

Thank you for providing such an excellent service to disgruntled customers such as myself. Without your help, I'm sure I would have never seen the money that I lost through my dealings with EuropCar. I chased it for months to no avail, and then when I enlisted your help, the matter was resolved in a few weeks.
