| Mrs. Williams from Kingswinford sent us the following e-mail regarding the new re-cycling boxes for newspapers supplied by Dudley Council: Recycling Boxes, no lids no wheels bad design can you imagine if put outside and it rains the papers will be wet and soggy, the box will fill up with water, it is to heavy to carry to the pavement, what a waste of ratepayers money. Mrs J Williams. |
| We passed this complaint to Dudley Council for their comments and they have replied as follows: |
|
With reference to the above complaint, I would like to inform you that all
kerbside recycling containers employed on our kerbside collection service
conform to environmental management specification BS EN 14001 and to quality
standard BS EN ISO 9001 and have been designed by manufacturers in
conjunction with ERRA (European Recovery and Recycling Association) and are
recognised as the industry standard. These containers are being used
successfully by UK, European and US Local Authorities who operate this type
of service. All containers come equipped with 'drain holes' to eliminate
water build up and are manufactured from recycled materials. Due to the type
of service, containers have to be as robust as possible and therefore have
no moving parts. |
| As requested by Dudley Council we have passed this e-mail to Mrs. Williams who has now e-mailed us as follows Thank you for your prompt reply. I will let you know what happens next after I phone the number you have given me. Thanks again for the swift reply Mrs J Williams ( We look forward to find out )
