The Daily Mail ran a promotion in conjunction with Texaco to give away, free of charge, a box of Quality Street sweets upon redemption of vouchers which were printed in the Mail on consecutive days. Having collected all the vouchers necessary, my wife tried on numerous occasions to collect the box of chocolates from our local Texaco garage without success. All in all she went 3 times only to be told on the last visit that they would not receive any further supplies.
I wrote to the Daily Mail some 6 weeks ago but to-date have not had the courtesy of a reply   – perhaps I ought to write to the Sun or the Mirror- I might have more success- or may be the Mail is too busy at present to have a go at the Blair's, after all, its only a box of chocolate.
The conclusion to-date, in the absence of any response, is clearly that it is a waste of time to collect any of the tokens printed in the Daily Mail – don’t bother, it is just not worth the aggravation to cut out and gather any of these tokens -  it might be a better option to switch to  another paper.
Update 18/02/2003
Having written again to Texaco I sent a copy of this letter to the Daily Mail for their information and I have now received a £5 Gift Voucher [W.H.Smith] and a CD of 'Selected Classics' from the Mail for the 'inconvenience' caused by Texaco.
