I bought a quilted coat from WRC in Manchester for my
sister. The coat was very nice, but the size was a bit small and so I
took the coat back to WRC in LEEDS but they had no bigger size left. They said to me that they can’t give me a refund but when I said to them you displayed that you do refunds they said, yes if it is faulty? Anyway I am not satisfied and I have been told by the manager that they were definitely getting the same coat in next September. I did wait for last September it didn’t come and now I am waiting for this September. I have spoken to them again requesting a refund as this shop is not our style and as this is only coat my sister liked.... but they don’t care... this is now the 2nd year that I had that credit note and it’s not fair...
I am requesting if they could refund my credit note
because there is no point to buy anything if it is not my style..... |

We wrote to WRC and asked them to instruct their Retail Outlet in Leeds to refund the Credit Note or to supply Miss Gul with a replacement coat and to contact Miss Gul directly to bring this matter to a satisfactory conclusion. Regretfully, they ignored our letter and on the 18th August 2004 Miss Gul contacted us again as follows: ' I am still waiting for WRC that they might contact me but to date they did not and I don't know what they are going to decide. I would like this matter sorted out as soon as possible because 2 years are a very long time and don't want this Credit Note forever. Could you please help and contact them again ..................please and thanks very much indeed. Once again we contacted WRC in Manchester and we included a copy of the Credit Note in question and we requested that they now make urgent arrangements to refund the outstanding amount to Miss Gul. We also told them to accept our letter as 'NOTICE BEFORE PROCEEDINGS' and that we would, on behalf of Miss Gul, ask the County Court to issue a Default Summons against Westworld Retail Corporation should they fail to repay the Credit Note. We are glad to say that WRC have now responded direct to Miss Gul and have sent her a cheque in full settlement as confirmed by Miss Gul on the 27th September 2004 as follows:

Its always pleases us to see a
happy ending but why did we have to write two letters on behalf
of Miss Gul and why did we have to resort to the threat of legal
action before we got this result.
This is a clear case where WestWorld Corporation were wrong and whilst they have now sorted it out there should have been no need for all this. Clear guidance to the staff, a bit of flexibility and co-operation from their Head Office would have avoided all this hassle And, by the way, WestWorld Corporation never once acknowledged our letters or offered their co-operation.
